Egg donation is becoming a way of helping other women (08/03/2016)
The number of couples experiencing problems to conceive is growing and little by little fertile women are more conscious about it. Helping other women to become mothers gives them a feeling of accomplishment.
At Institut Marquès, the number of egg donors in 2015 had an increase of more than 14%. The great majority did it following their desire to offer the possibility of becoming a mother to another woman. The tendency of sharing the experience as donors has increased. Last year, 99% of women said, after donating and feeling good about it, that they would encourage other women to become donors. This is a fact, as more than half of women who donated last year (60%) came to Institut Marquès because other donors recommended it.
Centre of reference
The experience is gratifying, even though the centre and doctors that accompany the donors can have a big effect on the emotions experienced during this process. In this regard, the valuation of the donors puts Institut Marquès in a very good position, with an average 4.97 out of 5 (i.e. 9.44 out of 10). This mark means that Institut Marquès is a reference centre in this field, and therefore one of the best options for women who want to become donors.
Furthermore, everyday there are more donors who decide to explain their experience to others instead of keeping it for themselves. The number of donors who shared their experience last year was the highest ever recorded. 35% of women didn’t show any problem in being interviewed by the media, 23% would do it but without revealing their identity, and 19% would consider it.
If you are between 18 and 35 years old, healthy (physically and psychologically) and you don’t have any history of hereditary diseases in your family, you can donate oocytes. Be part of this group who helps other women to become mothers.
